Broderick Gillawarna School is a School for Specific Purposes located in Revesby, NSW with 105 enrolments. The school caters to students aged 4 to 18 years with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities, autism and physical disabilities. BGS aims to provide individualised education that fosters academic achievement, communication, living skills, leisure and vocational skills, enabling students to lead fulfilling lives within the community.
At the heart of BGS is a vision to optimise the strengths of every student and their support team to enhance academic achievement and social and emotional development. Selection CriteriaApproval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with Autism, moderate intellectual disability and/or severe intellectual disability.
Demonstrated ability to support students with significant behaviour and/or trauma through evidence-based research.
Proven ability to develop and deliver differentiated learning experiences to students with complex learning needs, with a focus on improving literacy and numeracy.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to contribute to the whole school culture and work collaboratively to build positive relationships.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
