Clinical Pharmacist
Full Time (80 hours per fortnight, including an ADO)
The Team:
We in the Pharmacy Department are a growing team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and a pharmacy intern. Working closely with other professions as part of the multidisciplinary team, we strive to improve patient care and outcomes from a medication perspective. We work together to provide knowledge and awareness of medications and improve medication safety.
Our Clinical Pharmacists are involved in all aspects of medication use throughout the hospital, both on the wards and in the dispensary. We work, and provide services, in the following areas through the hospital:
- General Medicine
- Surgical
- Paediatrics
- Rehabilitation
- Geriatric Evaluation Medicine (GEM) - including
- Mental Health
- Emergency Department
- Intensive Care Unit
- Oncology - including Aseptic and Cytotoxic manufacturing
- Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS)
The Role:
- Full time position
- Grade 1, Grade 2 or Grade 3 position, depending on experience
- Opportunity to work across, and rotate through multiple areas of the hospital
- Provide supervision and education to our intern pharmacist and rotations of undergraduate students
If successful in this role you also will have opportunity to:
- Complete training in safe aseptic and cytotoxic manufacturing
- Participate in running and organising education of patient groups, nursing staff and medical staff
- Receive support to participate in relevant seminars/conferences to improve your clinical knowledge
- Help shape the future of our Pharmacy Department
- Participate in the on-call roster (less than once a month) and weekend roster
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification (Bachelors or Masters) in Pharmacy
- Registration as a Pharmacist with AHPRA
- Hospital experience is desired, but not essential
