Maintenance Officer

We're on the lookout for a Maintenance Officer who's just as comfortable with a paintbrush as they are with power tools — someone who can think on their feet, solve problems, and take pride in doing a job well.

About the Role:

In this role, you'll be responsible for repairs and maintenance across a wide range of facilities — from the Welcome Centre and Kartdrome to the BIG4 Holiday Park and beyond. You'll respond quickly to issues, plan practical solutions, and see each task through to completion. You'll contribute to the development and upkeep of our preventative maintenance program, while also getting hands-on with minor building projects, painting, tiling, carpentry, and plumbing work. At times, you'll support and oversee contractors on-site, ensuring work is completed safely and to standard. You'll also keep detailed records, prepare basic quotes, and manage tools, materials, and spare parts with confidence and care.

What will you be responsible for?

• Conducting day-to-day repairs and maintenance across all site facilities

• Responding promptly to maintenance issues and implementing timely, cost-effective solutions

• Developing and supporting an annual preventative maintenance program

• Completing minor building projects, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, tiling, and general repairs

• Liaising with contractors, managing site access, and overseeing external works when required

• Assisting tradespeople as needed during onsite works

• Preparing and presenting minor quotes for maintenance tasks

• Managing tools, materials, and spare parts inventory to ensure readiness for emergency repairs

• Documenting and maintaining accurate job records and task lists

• Contributing to a safe, well-presented, and efficiently run precinct environment

Key Skills and Experience:

• A solid background in hands-on maintenance, with practical skills in carpentry, painting, plumbing, or tiling

• Organised and self-driven — you can prioritise and manage your time with ease

• Clear communicator — you work well with others and keep people informed

• A natural problem solver who loves getting stuck into challenges

• Comfortable using databases, writing basic reports, and tracking repairs

• A team player who takes pride in contributing to something bigger

• Current Drivers License

• Current police clearance and Working with Children's Check required
