Legal Assistants / Law Clerks – TAC Team | Full-Time or Part-Time | CBD & Northcote

As our Transport Accident Commission (TAC) practice continues to grow, we're excited to offer two opportunities for Legal Assistants or Law Clerks to join our team in either our Northcote or CBD offices.

We're looking for passionate, detail-oriented individuals with experience in personal injury law — ideally TAC, though we've found those with workers' compensation backgrounds transition well into this space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level legal administrative and practice management support to TAC lawyers and clients
  • Draft court documents, briefs, schedules, letters, and correspondence
  • File documents via Citec, RedCrest, and Magistrates' Court portal
  • Manage diaries, emails, tasks, meetings, and appointments
  • Liaise with clients, law firms, barristers, court staff, insurers, and medical professionals
  • Assist with billing, invoicing, and general file management
  • Monitor critical dates and ensure deadlines are met
  • Maintain data records, generate reports, and manage file openings/closures

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in personal injury law (TAC or workers' compensation highly regarded)
  • Empathetic, confident, and personable with a genuine interest in personal injury law
  • Excellent communication, drafting, and organisational skills
  • Professional, client-focused, and able to handle sensitive information with care
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Tech-savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Proactive and keen to contribute to improving systems and processes
