The Groundsperson plays a key role in maintaining the College's gardens, grounds, and outdoor spaces to a high standard. This includes general grounds maintenance, security duties, waste management, and support for College events and functions. As a valued member of the Property and Facilities team, the Groundsperson contributes to the safety, presentation and functionality of the College environment, ensuring it remains a welcoming and inspiring place for students, staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain College gardens, lawns, roads, footpaths and ovals to a clean and safe standard
  • Operate and maintain grounds machinery and tools
  • Assist with function setups, signage placement and porterage
  • Monitor and manage waste and recycling systems
  • Perform security duties including locking/unlocking gates and buildings
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Team to support College operations
  • Respond to WHS requirements and promote safe work practices

Key Selection Criteria: Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training (e.g. Valuing Safe Communities)
  • Experience in grounds and general maintenance tasks
  • Ability to operate tools and machinery safely and effectively
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to the Christian values and ethos of the College
  • Current First Aid Certificate is desirable
