About the Group

Schools and Regional Services (SRS) offers central, regional, and local expertise to enhance learning and development outcomes, supported by a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce. It comprises 17 areas within 4 regions, backed by 5 central office divisions, all collaborating to deliver improved outcomes for early childhood services, schools, communities, and learners, in line with Education State commitments. SRS regions serve as a bridge between the central office, schools, and service providers, ensuring smooth transitions for learners and achieving the department's ambitious targets. Each region includes divisions specialising in school performance, student wellbeing and early childhood support, working with area-based teams to tailor local interventions and practices. The 17 areas provide crucial insights into local trends and issues, facilitating effective policy and program development and driving child and learner outcomes across all services and programs.

This role is located in the Provision and Planning Unit, School Performance Division, South Western Victoria Region, SRS. The Provision and Planning Unit is a close-knit team that supports schools across the region with matters concerning their facilities and infrastructure. The Unit works with schools, the Victorian School Building Authority and other areas across the department.

About the Role

The role will be known as a Senior Provision and Planning Officer. The role will report to the Manager - Provision and Planning and will work with the other officers to ensure high quality and consistent approaches to the following:

  • Accurate implementation of the Enrolment Policy and consistent approaches to the management of Government school accommodation.
  • Analysis and monitoring of the accommodation needs of Government schools.
  • Advocacy for additional accommodation where required.
  • Provision of support for schools with Emergency Maintenance applications and processes.
  • Support VSBA and schools with the implementation of the Rolling Facilities Evaluation, Capital Works and Asset Management Planning Processes.

The Senior Provision and Planning Officer will contribute to multi-disciplinary teams within and across areas through recognition of individual strengths and expertise and the development of region-wide practices to address competing demands and regional and central priorities across schools and areas.

There are two fixed term opportunities available for this position until 28 August 2026 and 30 June 2027.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in facilities management in the Victorian Public Sector is preferred
  • Full drivers licence is required
