CNC Machinist

About the role:

• Train and mentor apprentices and workshop staff.
• Communicate clearly with team members, suppliers, and customers.
• Follow all safety procedures and workplace standards.
• Accurately complete job cards and time records.
• Continue learning and upskilling to meet client needs.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation.
• Operate CNC and manual machines as per drawings and instructions.
• Work different shifts when required to meet operational needs.
• Report any equipment issues or safety concerns.
• Assist with general maintenance and workshop tasks when needed.
• Keep tools, gauges, and measuring equipment in good condition.
• Support business growth by helping with new projects and clients.

What You Need:

• Trade Certificate in machining or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience working with manual and CNC machining in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to program and operate metalworking machinery.
• Good understanding of different steel grades and how they machine.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, and efficiency improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Forklift and loader licences (or willingness to obtain).
• Physically fit for the role.
