Workfast is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for our client based in Bassendean, WA.

This role will see you working across a rotating roster on a locomotive wheelset overhaul line, machining and fitting precision components for the rail industry. You'll be involved in wheel and axle machining, bearing installation, and quality inspections to ensure safe, reliable outcomes for the rail network.

What You Get

  • $57.37 Per Hour + Penalties
  • Rotating roster (day & afternoon shifts)

    Dayshift - Monday to Friday - 6.00am - 2.30pmAfternoon shift - Monday to Thursday 1.30pm pm & Friday 1.30pm - 7.30pm
  • Ongoing position with training and career development opportunities
  • Immediate Start

What You Need

  • Australian Driver's Licence
  • White Card
  • CNC machining and operating experience (programming skills highly regarded)
  • Trade qualification or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments
  • Strong focus on safety and quality standards

What You'll Be Doing

  • Set up and operate CNC lathe machines for wheel and axle machining
  • Assist with assembly, fitting, and bearing installation on locomotive wheelsets
  • Conduct inspections, measurements, and quality checks
  • Work from drawings and specifications to deliver precision outcomes
  • Contribute to a safe and efficient workshop environment
