Reporting through to the Principal Legal Officer, our client is a dynamic fast paced organisation that determines disputes, applications, reviews and referrals in a wide range of jurisdictions. There is currently a short term vacancy for a Senior Legal Officer to the support decision making and delivery of high-quality services, ensuring administrative legal compliance. The role will also provide secretariat support to the main Committee. This includes preparation of draft practice directions, notices, instruments or forms, and checking the legal content of any related web content and policies or procedures. You will also contribute to the delivery of ongoing services and success by undertaking, as needed, assignments and projects aligned with current capabilities

Suitable candidates must be admitted, or are eligible for immediate admission, as a legal practitioner in Queensland. You will have experience in administrative law and be effective in reading and interpreting legal documents and providing verbal and written legal advice. You will be able to work independently and follow through on assignments and projects with minimal direction. You will also be effective at negotiating or exchanging ideas, information and opinions with others to formulate policies and programs. You will set priorities, problem solve in ambiguous circumstances and be someone who can establish rapport and gain the trust of others.
