The Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Automation Maintenance Electrician to join our onsite team at a food manufacturing facility in Mildura. This role is ideal for someone with strong fault-finding experience, a hands-on attitude, and confidence working with packaging machines, PLCs, drives, and automation systems.
You'll be joining a close-knit team on-site, working full-time day shift, with consistent hours and optional weekend overtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform breakdown maintenance and diagnostics on high-speed food production and packaging equipment
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and maintain detailed service records
- Fault find and troubleshoot PLC systems, VSDs, relays, sensors, and safety circuits
- Maintain and upgrade machine control wiring and control panels
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of plant equipment
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve uptime, performance, and reliability
- Work closely with the client's production and maintenance team while representing EES to the highest standard
- Always maintain safe work practices and comply with site OHS procedures
What You'll Need
- Current A-Grade Electrical Licence (VIC)
- 5+ years experience as a qualified electrician
- 2+ years experience in food manufacturing or FMCG preferred
- Strong fault finding and problem-solving skills – both electrical and controls
- Experience working with vertical baggers, flow wrappers, conveyors, and automation equipment
- Proficiency with VSDs, sensors, and control systems
- Confident in reading and interpreting electrical schematics
- Proactive attitude to safety, communication, and documentation
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
