About the Opportunity

South Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking a dedicated, outgoing and purpose driven Clinical Psychologist to join the district-wide multidisciplinary Transitional Aged Care Program (TACP) team.

This role is an amazing opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to build on their experience by working with a diverse client base of older people living in the community. Through the TACP program you will be working with clients who have a wide range of challenges, and you will be able to work with clients with specific goals in mind. Whilst working with the clients you will have the opportunity to view their life as a whole and empowering them in their homes to achieve their goals. You will have the chance to work with families and the wider community to provide a holistic approach to the client care. You will also with work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care to our clients.

As the Clinical Psychologist you will have a keen interest in professional development, clinical supervision, teaching and quality improvement activities including service promotion and development activities.

What You'll be Doing

To deliver specialist psychological and psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, interventions and consultation in order to address the needs of consumers who are living with complex mental health problems and disorders in a community setting (SWSLHD Transitional Aged Care Program).

The role also participates in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services and assists in the development

and provision of education and training programs. Additionally, the role supervises Psychologists and other disciplines working within the LHD according to organisational needs.

How to Apply

  • Full registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with full Clinical Psychology endorsement or eligibility to progress to Clinical Psychology endorsement with AHPRA. Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate Clinical Psychology of no less than two years full - time duration or recognised equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in psychological assessment, case formulation and intervention for older adults with complex mental illnesses.
  • Demonstrated high level organisational, prioritisation and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical demands and a geographically large area.
  • Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
