About the role

You will lead the delivery of Majarlin's operations in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, overseeing the facilitation of clinical placements, career promotion, research initiatives, and regional and national collaboration with clinical and academic partners. In addition, you will provide strategic leadership, offering direction and ensuring seamless integration with the department, Faculty, and the broader university network. This role also offers an opportunity to advance your academic career by engaging in research, developing teaching programs and resources, and contributing to relevant service and leadership activities.Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the East Kimberley Clinical Education Program Plan in coordination with the Academic Leads.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Research Fellow to implement the Research Plan.
  • Oversee local student recruitment activities, including careers expos and KRASH initiatives.
  • Manage postgraduate training programs in consultation with the Academic Leads.
  • Build and maintain relationships with East Kimberley clinical organizations to identify collaborative opportunities that enhance the academic programs and projects.
  • Represent leadership in the East Kimberley and representing the University within the region.
  • Provide support for the Line Managers based outside the East Kimberley, to assist the Kununurra team.
  • Conduct tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, and clinical sessions, including assessment and grading.
  • Develop and deliver subject material, with guidance and support from senior staff and colleagues.
  • Supervise major honours or postgraduate research projects.
  • Engage in research and professional activities relevant to your field.
  • Provide consultation and support to students.
Qualifications, skills & experience
  • Current unrestricted national registration with relevant Allied Health governing body (e.g. AHPRA).
  • Proven significant experience as a health professional.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership of health teams.
  • Highly developed administration skills in a higher education context.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering higher educational clinical programs in a rural setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Indigenous peoples, with proven ability to build trust and rapport through respectful, empathetic, and culturally appropriate interactions.
  • Demonstrated familiarity, sensitivity and respect for the diverse needs, aspirations, and cultures of Indigenous societies.
