About the role

WSP Australia is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Building Services team. This role offers the chance to work on high-profile projects across multiple sectors, with a strong emphasis on Data Centre design and High Voltage (HV) systems. You'll play a key part in delivering critical infrastructure projects that demand reliability, resilience, and innovation, while contributing to the continued growth and success of our business. We are happy to consider applications from Senior Engineer to Associate Director level.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide specialist electrical design expertise for Data Centres and other mission-critical environments.
  • Lead small to medium-sized design projects and support larger, complex programmes, ensuring technical excellence, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Contribute to the growth of our Building Services team and help shape our strategic direction in the Data Centre sector.
Key Responsibilities
  • Data Centre & HV Design Leadership: Deliver electrical designs for Data Centres, including high voltage distribution, redundancy systems, and power resilience strategies.
  • Project Leadership: Manage and deliver multiple projects concurrently, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Client Engagement: Build strong relationships with clients, understanding their technical and operational needs.
  • Innovation & Best Practice: Apply best practices to optimise performance, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability.
  • Team Development: Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence within the team.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in Data Centre electrical design, including high voltage systems and critical power infrastructure.
  • 6–10+ years' experience in building services engineering, ideally within a consulting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and Codes (AS/NZS 3000, NCC, etc.).
  • Familiarity with BIM, Revit MEP, and Navisworks (advantageous).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to identify and drive business development opportunities in the Data Centre sector.
