Position: Medical Receptionist

Type: Casual/Part-time (flexible shifts available)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist patients in a friendly, professional manner
  • Manage appointment scheduling and patient queries
  • Maintain patient records and confidentiality
  • Process billing and insurance claims
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a senior medical reception role
  • Experience with Best Practice software.
  • Patient Reception & Communication:

Greet patients warmly, manage phone calls, book and confirm appointments, and handle patient inquiries professionally.

  • Clinical Administration:

Register new patients, update demographics, scan documents, manage correspondence, and maintain accurate records in Best Practice.

  • Billing & Payments:

Process Medicare, WorkCover, and private payments, issue receipts, and reconcile daily takings.

  • Recalls & Reminders:

Manage recalls, reminders, and follow-ups in Best Practice, ensuring patients are contacted for results, reviews, and preventive care.

  • WorkCover & Insurance Cases:

Create and maintain WorkCover files, liaise with employers and insurers, and ensure correct billing and documentation.

  • Team & Practice Support:

Support doctors, nurses, and practice management with administrative tasks and assist in maintaining efficient patient flow.

  • Confidentiality & Compliance:

Follow privacy, confidentiality, and infection control policies at all times.
