The Opportunity
Council is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals who are seeking an opportunity to work within the Community Safety Department of Melton City Council.
These positions will report to the Pound Services Team Leader and assist in the day to day operation of our pound facility in accordance with relevant legislation and codes of practice in conjunction with Council's policies and procedures. The successful applicants will be responsible to carry out all duties associated with our pound facility.

Key Responsibilities
- Skills in handling domestic animals, using animal handling equipment including dog control devices and knowledge of care and husbandry of animals.
- Knowledge of cleaning and feeding procedures in relation to care of domestic animals.
- Working knowledge of the processes and practices required to operate a pound or similar facility.
- Basic knowledge of relevant legislation relating to animals.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Demonstrated understanding of domestic animal behaviour and husbandry practices.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to carry out basic administrative tasks accurately.
- Experience working with domestic animals, either paid or voluntary in a related setting.
- Current valid Victorian Driver's Licence.
- Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
