Orchard Hand

Koompartu Farms (Cooltong Station) is a newly developed large-scale almond property in Monash, South Australia. With the healthy growth of the young almond plants, we are eagerly preparing for our first harvest early next year. To meet these new operational requirements of our farm, we have decided to add one more Orchard Hand to our fantastic team.

The role

You will carry out a range of orchard operational activities, including managing young trees, operating farm machinery, including harvest machinery, spraying weedicide, herbicide, and fungicides, slashing weeds, and checking and repairing irrigation systems.

We will support your professional development through certifications and industry/job-specific training courses, and help you build a long-term career with us.

Ideal candidates will:

· have experience in a similar capacity with a good understanding of orchard activities (preferably in an almond orchard), including irrigation

· be able to safely operate a range of farm machinery

· have a strong commitment to work health and safety

· have a valid driver's licence

· have chemical handling certification (or willingness to obtain certification)

· have a forklift licence (or willingness to obtain a license)

· be willing to work flexible hours and work outdoors

· have the physical capacity to carry out the essential duties of the role

· be able to work independently and in a team

· have excellent interpersonal skills
