About the Business:

THAI ON RUTHVEN is a well-established, authentic Thai restaurant in the heart of Toowoomba. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional dining experiences through our traditional cuisine and vibrant atmosphere. We are looking for a passionate and skilled Chef to join our dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

· Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes to a high standard.

· Manage food preparation and service during busy periods.

· Assist with menu planning and development.

· Order supplies and manage inventory levels.

· Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.

· Train and supervise junior kitchen staff.

Skills & Experience Required:

· Minimum of 2+ years of experience working as a qualified Chef in a commercial kitchen.

· Minimum 1 year of proven experience in preparing authentic Thai cuisine is essential.

· Formal qualification in Commercial Cookery (minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery) is mandatory.

· Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, including food safety standards (HACCP).

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.

· Excellent communication and leadership skills.

· Flexible availability to work on weekends and evenings as required.

· A current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one) may be required.
