We are actively seeking Japanese tutors (for both primary and secondary students) with experience in the VCAA F-10 curriculum and VCE study design.

Our starting rate for a* 2-hour class varies from $80 to $120 , *depending on your class size and qualifications (Master of Teaching/Education/VIT). As you gain experience and demonstrate commitment to our mission, you can apply for our senior tutor role, where rates increase with additional classes and contributions to student success.

Academic Requirements

  • 90+ ATAR
  • 40+ Raw Study Score in Japanese
  • 1-Year+ Tutoring Experience in VCE Subject(s)
  • Academic Awards in VCE Subject(s)

NOTE: These are not hard-fast academic requirements; however, they are favourable to your application.

Personal Requirements

  • Full Academic Year Commitment (e.g. no sudden trips during the school term. Applicants with working holiday visas will not be considered)
  • Sign an agreement (e.g. can't distribute our resources/company info to others)
  • Ability to Commit to Weekly Classes (e.g. can't constantly reschedule or miss classes)
  • Travel to our Locations (Blackburn VIC)
  • Genuine Desire to Motivate Students (e.g. your primary goal is to help students achieve their potential)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions (in-person).
  • Develop and implement personalised lesson plans tailored to individual student needs.
  • Assist students in comprehending and mastering key concepts, problem-solving, and enhancing language proficiency.
  • Provide constructive feedback to both students and parents regarding progress and areas for improvement.
  • Manage the classroom effectively and maintain a safe learning environment.

Job Type: Subcontract

Pay: $40.00 – $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 6 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • BLACKBURN, VIC 3130: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Teaching: 1 year (Required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Working with Children Check (Required)
