Workshop Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to join our dynamic team at the North East Arnhem Land Aboriginal Corporation in Nhulunbuy, NT. As the Workshop Supervisor, you will play a vital role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our automotive workshop, ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery to our clients. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of our organisation and develop your skills within the Light Vehicle mechanical industry.

What you'll be doing

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the workshop team, including mechanics and technicians
• Oversee the maintenance, repair and servicing of a variety of vehicles and equipment
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant safety standards and regulations
• Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and provide exceptional customer service
• Manage workshop inventory, parts and supplies to maintain efficient operations
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance workshop productivity and efficiency
• Provide mentoring and training to workshop staff to develop their skills and knowledge
• Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including job cards and workshop records

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Workshop Supervisor or in a similar leadership role within the Automotive Trades industry
• Strong technical knowledge and expertise in the maintenance and repair of a wide range of vehicles and equipment
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues
• Proven ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team of mechanics and technicians
• Outstanding communication and customer service skills
• Demonstrated experience in inventory management and workshop operations
• Relevant trade qualifications or certifications
• C Class License
