We are currently seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Finance Officer to support the Department's financial operations and ensure the integrity of financial reporting across the organisation.
About the Role
The Finance Officer supports the Department's day-to-day financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data submitted to NSW Treasury. You will prepare month-end reports and reconciliations, assist with annual accounts, and contribute to continuous improvements in financial processes and systems.
This role plays a key part in maintaining compliance, enhancing data quality, and supporting informed financial decision-making across the Department.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience and knowledge of financial operations, accounting and reporting practices in a large organisation.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills, with the ability to identify and resolve anomalies.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and OneNote.
- The ability to interpret and apply public sector accounting standards, policies, and statutory requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
