Location: Sydney, NSW Contract Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension) Agency Type: Government Agency Project: Cyber Security Maturity Uplift A leading Government Agency is seeking a skilled Application Penetration Tester to join a high-impact cyber security initiative aimed at uplifting application security maturity across critical systems. This role offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of security professionals, developers, and architects to identify, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities in web and mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct web application and mobile penetration testing across 50+ applications
  • Perform dynamic and static analysis using black box, grey box, and white box methodologies.
  • Lead manual API testing aligned with OWASP Top 10 and other security standards.
  • Deliver actionable insights and remediation plans to improve security posture.
  • Collaborate with SOC and project teams to drive secure development practices.
  • Provide proof-of-concept demonstrations and threat intelligence investigations.

Desired Skills And Experience

  • Extensive experience and proven leadership in penetration testing and vulnerability management
  • Hands-on experience with red teaming (essential) and blue teaming (desirable)
  • Familiarity and experience working in cloud environments (AWS and Azure)
  • Certifications including OSCP, CISSP, and CISA (nice to have)
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, Java) and deep knowledge of TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, and PKI.
  • A passion for secure coding practices and DevSecOps integration.
