Guided by our Values, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing expert environmental, stormwater quality, and bushfire hazard management assessments to support city planning and development applications.

• Delivering professional advice on land use and environmental management, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and best practices.

• Assessing and preparing reports on development applications, including contributing to Planning & Environment Court appeal matters.

• Researching emerging trends in land use and environmental strategies to enhance team capabilities and improve service delivery.

• Managing tasks with initiative, strong problem-solving, and negotiation skills while working independently with minimal supervision.

What we're looking for:

We're looking for a team player with solid experience in environmental assessment and land use management. You'll have a strong understanding of Queensland's planning legislation - especially the Planning Act 2016, Planning Regulation 2017, and Redland City Plan and know how to apply it effectively. Excellent communication is key, whether you're writing professional reports or providing great customer service. If you're highly organised, skilled at problem-solving and negotiation, and can juggle priorities in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you

Eligibility

• You'll hold tertiary qualifications in environmental planning/science/engineering or similar.
• You'll have a current Open Class C Driver's Licence (Queensland) or equivalent.
• Successful applicants will be asked to consent to a police check. Please note that people with criminal records are not automatically barred from applying for this position. Each application will be considered on its merits.
• To be eligible for employment, applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia.
