Location: Hybrid – 3 days in office in Sydney CBD

We are looking for a recent or near-recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering or IT who is eager to move beyond traditional support and into software development and operations. The role sits within a small, high-performing engineering team responsible for supporting, maintaining and continuously improving our production systems, mobile app and internal tools.

This is not a pure development role. It suits someone who is curious, proactive and driven to make things better. The successful candidate will handle Level 3 technical support, working directly with code, databases, logs and cloud environments to diagnose and resolve production issues.

More importantly, they will take the initiative to identify inefficiencies or gaps in processes, and then design and build tools or automations that empower Level 1 and 2 support and improve the reliability and efficiency of our systems. This may include integrating with both in-house developed software (including our mobile app and backend services) and external SaaS platforms used across the business.

Over time, this person will grow into DevOps, test automation and development responsibilities, contributing to broader engineering initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Attributes

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or IT (recent graduate or up to around three years' experience)
  • Confident working with code (can read and modify it, for example in Python, JavaScript or similar)
  • Able to understand and troubleshoot at the system and database level
  • Demonstrated initiative to identify problems and implement creative solutions
  • Strong interest in automation, tooling and scripting to improve processe
  • Exposure to or interest in DevOps (CI/CD, AWS, Docker and related tools)
  • Comfortable with both manual and automated testing approaches
  • Experience or interest in integrating SaaS platforms with internal systems and mobile applications
  • Eager to learn, take ownership and grow quickly within a small company
  • Thrives in an environment where curiosity, problem solving and innovation are valued
