About our Kinder Box Hill South Pre School is a warm and inviting, not for profit Community Kindergarten. We offer an exciting, engaging and stimulating play-based program delivered by enthusiastic and passionate educators for sessional 3YO and 4YO groups. Our purpose-built kindergarten is situated in a peaceful and natural setting and shares the wonderful facilities of Box Hill South Family Centre. Description

Box Hill South Preschool is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated early childhood teacher to join our team in a trainee leadership role. This position offers a structured pathway into a Kindergarten Director position, with full mentoring and support during the transition. In the first year, you will:
• Lead the 4-year-old kindergarten group, delivering a high-quality, play-based educational program in line with the VEYLDF and NQS.
• Support the 3-year-old group
• Work closely with and be mentored by the current Director, gaining hands-on experience in leadership, management, and operational aspects of the kindergarten. In the second year, the position will transition to a combined Director and 4-year-old Lead Teacher role, with responsibility for both educational leadership and the day-to-day management of the preschool. Key Responsibilities
• Plan, deliver, and evaluate a high-quality, inclusive 4-year-old kindergarten program.
• Support and participate in the 3-year-old program as required.
• Collaborate with educators to create engaging learning environments that reflect children's interests and developmental needs.
• Participate in leadership and professional learning activities to develop knowledge in: o Kindergarten operations and administration o Committee and family engagement o Compliance with regulations, policies, and funding guidelines o Quality Improvement Planning and educational leadership
• Uphold the preschool's commitment to child safety, inclusivity, and ethical practice.

Qualifications


• Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA-approved equivalent).
• Current VIT registration.
• Demonstrated experience leading or co-leading a kindergarten program.
• Strong understanding of the VEYLDF, NQS, and Child Safe Standards.
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth and leadership development.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
