About The Role

  • Meeting with clients to gather information and explain legal matters
  • Researching cases and litigation
  • Defending clients in Court
  • Researching relevant laws and previous cases of interest to provide a client with accurate advice
  • Supervising and training junior Solicitors and Paralegals
  • Drafting legal documents
  • Keeping up to date regarding new developments in the law
  • Liaising with clients and other professionals such as Barristers
  • Building strong relationships with the Firm's client base

To be Considered for this Role, you Will Need

  • A current Practising Certificate
  • Have experience in all areas of Law
  • Have a desire to live and work in Mackay with a view to staying in Mackay in the long term
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with a meticulous eye for detail
  • An enthusiastic, positive and friendly personality coupled with a strong desire to achieve results
  • The ability to work autonomously with a high level of initiative and be an effective team member
  • A dedicated focus on building and fostering relationships with our growing base of clients and referrers
  • Experience in dealing with confidential and sensitive matters
  • Skills in the use of MS Office, Outlook and other software and databases
  • High quality written and oral expression and interpersonal skills
  • Accurate proof reading, grammatical and spelling skills
  • Ability to work within tight timelines
  • Experience in using PEXA on conveyancing and other property matters
