Sunshine Coast Grammar School is seeking a passionate and experienced educator with proven capacity to lead in the role of Associate Dean – Literacy and Numeracy within the Primary School.
Commencing in January 2026, this newly created leadership role will work alongside the Dean of Teaching and Learning to strengthen teacher capacity and student outcomes across Prep – Year 6.
The successful applicant will:
- Lead evidence-informed approaches in literacy and numeracy.
- Work directly with classroom teachers through coaching, mentoring, modelling, and co-teaching.
- Use student achievement data to monitor progress, identify trends, and inform practice.
- Support curriculum alignment and high-quality professional learning.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, Learning Enrichment, and Extended Learning teams to ensure all students are supported and challenged in their learning.
The role includes a 0.2 FTE teaching load allocated at the direction of the Head of Primary.
Applicants will demonstrate:
- Significant experience in literacy and/or numeracy instruction and demonstrated success as a school leader.
- A commitment to explicit teaching and mastery approaches to learning.
- Proven ability to build teacher capacity through coaching and mentoring.
- Strong collaboration skills and confidence in using data to inform practice.
- Current QCT Registration
- Supportive of the Christian values and ethos of the School and the PMSA
- Model effective interpersonal communication skills and emotional intelligence and effective leadership attributes.
