The Role
We are looking for a dedicated Urgent Care Nurse Manager to join our team, overseeing nursing operations across our Queanbeyan site. This role provides an exciting opportunity to lead and support a team of nurses while ensuring the highest standard of patient care.

As a key leader, you will work closely with the Practice Manager to maintain the efficiency of the Treatment Rooms and Urgent Care services at Queanbeyan, while also mentoring and training clinical staff.

You will ensure all patients presenting to the Urgent Care Service are appropriately triaged, assessed, and provided with frontline care in collaboration with our skilled Urgent Care medical practitioners.

Urgent Care Nurse Manager
, you will play a pivotal role in:

  • Clinical Leadership & Training – Oversee and support urgent care nurses, paramedics, and administrative teams, ensuring excellence in triage, patient care, and compliance with best practices.
  • Quality & Compliance – Maintain high clinical governance standards, conduct audits, and ensure accreditation compliance.
  • Workforce Planning & Development – Recruit, mentor, and support the professional growth of nurses and paramedics.
  • Strategic & Business Development – Drive innovation in urgent care services, contribute to business planning, and collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance patient care.
  • Workplace Health & Safety – Promote a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with WHS policies and procedures.
  • Leadership & cultivation of practice nurse teams within medical centres,
  • Support treatment room functions through clinical audits, oversight of rostering & ordering

What You'll Need

  • Registered Nurse Qualification (AHPRA registered)
  • Cert IV in Training & Assessment (desired)
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience (Primary healthcare, community, or urgent care experience preferred)
  • Proven leadership, mentorship, and management skills
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication abilities
