Zweck is an internal Group Services division that partners with Aizer Group. We are recruiting a quality shopfitter/Carpenter/maintenance all-rounder for our partner Aizer Building Solutions.

The Role

We are recruiting a shopfitter or maintenance all-rounder who can multitask across our vast portfolio client base and work types, to join our team in the aged care facility and commercial refurbishment division. This role will be based in Tingalpa, working across the Brisbane / Gold coast / Sunshine Coast region.

About the Role

Reporting into the Project Manager, these opportunities will join the trades team to support and provide shopfitting / carpentry / joinery services across a large range of small to medium sized projects to be delivered at the highest standard at a trade qualified level. You will be responsible for performing all minor refurbishment works and assisting with the delivery of specialized construction projects as required, including but not limited to;

  • Refurbishment projects in Aged Care / Retirement living sector
  • Fit outs of fast food, hotels pubs and clubs.
  • Support project teams in undertaking tasks including minor works of other trade scope.
  • Liaise with other trades and services to coordinate works.
  • Engage with clients and staff to ensure project deliverables.

About You

The successful applicant will be an 'all-round tradesperson' with experience working in general carpentry & joinery or shopfitting, possess a strong customer service mentality, be driven, flexible and passionate. They will also have the following skills and experience:

  • The ability to work autonomously with exceptional time management skills
  • Good communication skills including the ability to co-ordinate contractors & external tradespeople
  • Strong work ethic and a can-do attitude
  • Ability to complete carpentry and joinery elements but not limited to, including minor touch ups, painting, plastering, etc
  • Identify and participate in improvement initiatives that will enhance the profitability, growth and sustainability of the company

To be successful in this role you will also have:

  • Trade Qualification in Carpentry / shopfitting or Similar is highly desirable but not essential
  • Minimum of 3 years in the Building Construction industry
  • Sound knowledge of regulations, by-laws and building codes
  • Exceptional time management, planning, and communication skills
  • Ability to be a team player who can work with subcontractors and clients to achieve best outcome for all
  • A positive attitude, personal drive, and performance focus.
  • Must be able to provide own hand tools
  • Be reliable, fit and ready to start ASAP
