The role
The Art Technician plays an important role in the organisation of the art classroom, assisting with the delivery of the art curriculum in both the primary and secondary school with a particular focus on supporting the Primary Art Teacher:
Key responsibilities include:
- preparation of resources and organisation for lessons
- supporting the teacher in delivery of lessons
- assisting with the maintenance of all specialised equipment
- ordering relevant supplies
This is a part-time role, 8.00 am to 4.00 pm, 4 days per week, during school term time only. Consideration may also be given to working 30 hours per week across 5 days.
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment to support teachers and students. You will bring with you:
- A strong eye for detail, ensuring the art classrooms are organised and presented at all times
- The ability to follow direction and to balance using initiative within the parameters of the role
- The ability to support others whether this be the classroom teacher or students, this includes cleaning as required
- Well developed communication and organisational skills
- Effective computer skills in the Microsoft Suite, Adobe package and other relevant creative packages
