ABOUT YOU

Passionate about walking alongside women with empathy, respect and dignity, you're a compassionate and skilled counsellor who recognises the resilience and resourcefulness of women.

With a tertiary qualification in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, and at least 5 years' experience providing trauma and domestic violence informed counselling, you are confident supporting women through counselling, co-facilitating therapeutic &/or community groups, and offering advocacy and crisis support when needed.

You flourish in environments that foster teamwork and mutual support, yet you're equally capable of working autonomously. Turning care into practice, you are deeply committed to centring women's voices, lived experience and expertise, valuing reflective practice and inclusivity informed by feminist principles and social determinants of health.

ABOUT US

The Illawarra Women's Health Centre established in 1986, provides free or low-cost health and wellbeing services, programs, groups and education to improve women's health across the Illawarra. The Centre operates from a feminist and social model of health perspective. The Centre is a not for profit registered charity, delivering services for women and girls pertaining to sexual and reproductive health, mental health and emotional wellbeing, domestic and family violence support, and community connection.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Permanent part-time 30 hours per week.
