Share a Chat or Stroll, Share a Smile – Be a Companion for a Senior

Seeking a kind and reliable volunteer to support an elderly resident by providing companionship and/or short garden walks. This role offers a wonderful opportunity to provide companionship and promote well-being through light outdoor activity.
About the role:
  • Friendly conversation and light walking
  • Flexible days and times
  • Burmese-speaking is a bonus, but not required
  • Ideal for someone who enjoys the outdoors and connecting with others

This is a lovely opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone's day.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the residents you are matched with.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Requirements years or older
• National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare, NDIS Worker Screening Check
•

We're looking for some friendly volunteers to provide one-hour visits between 9:30am–12:00pm or 1:00–4:00pm Monday to Sunday.

Please note: Volunteer interviews and Orientation must take place on a weekday during business hours.
