We're currently seeking compassionate and committed Residential Youth Workers to join our growing team in Mount Isa, QLD.

In this role, you'll support young people in a residential care setting, helping them feel safe, supported, and empowered as they navigate life's challenges. You'll be part of a passionate team dedicated to providing trauma-informed, person-centred care that creates real impact.

About the Role:

  • Provide daily care, supervision, and support to young people
  • Assist with life skills, routines, personal care, and household tasks
  • Build positive relationships with professional boundaries
  • Support emotional regulation, education, and recreational activities
  • Implement behaviour support and therapeutic strategies
  • Respond calmly to crisis situations and challenging behaviours
  • Maintain accurate documentation and shift reports
  • Collaborate with internal teams, Child Safety, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure a safe and culturally appropriate home environment

About You:

  • Genuine passion for working with children and young people
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and adolescent development
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to crisis situations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible, reliable, and committed to providing high-quality care

Requirements:

  • Blue Card (Working With Children Check) – No Card, No Start
  • Current QLD Driver's Licence
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, Community Services or related (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience supporting young people with complex needs (preferred)
  • Ability to pass a National Police Check
