Are you a motivated Speech Pathologist looking to grow your skills in a supportive and collaborative environment? Lower Hunter Speech Pathology is seeking a Level 1–2 Speech Pathologist to join our team in a maternity leave backfill position, working across two welcoming sites.
Remuneration: $76,364 – $108,943 per annum + superannuation + salary packaging
Location: East Maitland Community Health and Cessnock / Kurri Kurri Hospitals
Employment Type: Temporary Full Time - Until February 2027

About the role
This unique dual-site role offers variety, strong team support, and opportunities for ongoing professional development. You will work 0.4 FTE at East Maitland Community Health and 0.6 FTE at Cessnock and Kurri Kurri Hospitals. Across both settings, you will be backed by experienced clinicians within the Lower Hunter Speech Pathology service and the broader multidisciplinary teams at each site.
Your caseload
- Primarily outpatient paediatric clients across both locations
- Adult inpatient caseload (communication and swallowing) at Cessnock/Kurri Kurri Hospitals
- A truly generalist mix, ideal for clinicians wanting to consolidate skills or broaden their scope
What we're looking for
We are seeking a Speech Pathologist with:
- A developing or established generalist skill set, including paediatric community work and adult acute care
- Confidence or interest in managing communication and swallowing disorders
A collaborative, adaptable approach within multidisciplinary teams - What we offer

Requirements:
Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.

Additional Information:
- To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
