Job details

Software Engineers have experience overseeing software development projects, writing optimised code, and providing technical leadership to a team of software engineers. They are responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team.

Key duties and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust SQL solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and ensure alignment with SDLC and change management processes.
  • Partner with the data modelling team to ensure database designs support analytical and operational needs.
  • Implement performance enhancements and graceful database designs for large-scale datasets.
  • Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using SSIS, and manage deployments via Microsoft DevOps.
  • Conduct code reviews, manage source control using Git, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all solutions.
  • Support Agile delivery through iterative development and continuous feedback loops.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Developer.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL Server, Oracle, SSIS, SSMS, and Microsoft DevOps.
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, indexing strategies, query optimization, and data warehousing techniques.
  • Experience working with large datasets, including performance tuning and efficient data handling.
  • Familiarity with data modelling concepts and collaboration with data modelling teams.
  • Proven ability to gather and interpret business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
  • Knowledge of SDLC, change management, and deployment best practices.

Desirable Experience

  • Exposure to data analytics or data science projects.
  • Experience in exploratory data analysis and deriving insights from complex datasets.
  • Prior work in cross-functional teams involving business analysts, data modellers, and developers.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $120.00 – $135.00 per hour
