Rimex Wheel Pty Ltd is a world leading manufacturer of earthmover wheels and rims, with branches throughout Australia and worldwide in the major industrial and mining areas.

We currently have a full-time position available for an immediate start in a fast paced, actively growing family-owned business that values people.

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Coordinator (HSEQ) with experience in developing processes and auditing systems to add to our friendly team based in Mackay.

Your main focus will be ensuring the safe and compliant operation of the organisation by implementing and maintaining a defined Work Health & Safety (WHS) program which will identify hazards and assess risks to health and safety of our workers to avoid accidents and injuries. Your time will need to be appropriately proportioned to cover Quality and operational related aspects of the business including but not limited to reviewing and developing procedures & processes with other stakeholders, auditing, and process and organisational effectiveness, e.g. lead on quality systems and lean process management.

There will be regular intra and interstate travel involved to our other branches and sites we work at throughout Australia. You must be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate between all levels within the organisation from the staff on the Shop Floor, Branch Managers and Senior Management to provide advice and guidance on best practice while effectively monitoring and reporting on HSEQ performance and compliance.  This role will require you to have strong interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will be paid a competitive salary based on their skills and experience.

As a Coordinator your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Setting clear targets to demonstrate action regarding non-conformance, incidents and injuries, complaints and compliments, suggestions, and observations.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining effective procedures,
  • Effectively communicate Quality issues to all levels in a timely manner,
  • Conduct Incident Investigations (ICAM)
  • Conduct internal audits, investigations, and risk assessments to measure success and promote action.
  • Work to the applicable standards AS4801 (ISO45001), ISO14001& ISO9001
  • Induct new team members and implement training programs on HSEQ issues.
  • A passion for continuous improvement supported by mentoring and excellent constructive critical analysis and include a review of skills and training needs.
  • Promote HSEQ work methods and practices in the workplace.
  • Ensure compliance across the whole organisation.
  • Identify, record and report hazard, accidents, injuries and health and environmental issues.
  • Participate and/or conduct investigations of accidents or process deviations, studying possible causes and provide remedial advice.
  • Conduct training sessions for management, supervisors and workers.
  • Assist with rehabilitation of workers after accidents and oversee their successful return to work.
  • Coordinate emergency procedures and first aid officers
  • Develop WHS plans in conjunction with management and monitor compliance.
  • Inspect workplace and related tools and equipment to ensure compliance with government regulations.

The Candidate:

To be considered for this position, it is essential you have all the following (as a minimum):

  • Diploma of Work Health and Safety (BSB51315) or Advanced Diploma of Work Health and Safety (BSB60615)
  • Demonstrated experience in Quality Control and or Quality Assurance.
  • Demonstrated experience in systems auditing.
  • Incident Investigation experience (ICAM or other)
  • "C" Class driver's licences
  • Strong computer literacy (especially with MS suite of products)
  • Be able to pass Drug and Alcohol testing
  • Be team focused and willing to learn and grow with the company.
  • Lead by example
  • Be able to travel intra and interstate on a regular basis which may include short notice.
  • Be able to multitask and set priorities to achieve goals and objectives.

  • Project / Organisational experience and qualifications
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment
  • National Police Clearance
  • Provide / Senior First Aid,
