About The Position

The Case Support Worker will provide a range of support and assistance to a team of five Practitioners across the Wurrekangek (Aboriginal Family Preservation and Reunification Response) team. The worker will assist the Practitioners in conducting; client facing visits, transports and administrative tasks within the programs whilst supporting vulnerable children, young people and families within the Loddon Campaspe and Dja Dja Wurrung region

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to Requests for Support as appropriate in collaboration with Practitioners and Leadership
  • Support Practitioners to provide supports to families in a timely and efficient manner
  • Provide administrative support to the Wurrekangek team
  • Participate in case conferences to complete meeting minutes.
  • Establish and maintain healthy working relationships with service providers, case managers, families and children.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of activities in accordance with legislative requirements and relevant policies

About You

  • Understanding of the Children's, Youth and Families Act 2005.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal Cultures and the ACCO environment.
  • Demonstrated skills in building strong professional relationships with children and families.
  • Ability to prepare plans, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language. Ensure written communications contain necessary information to achieve their purpose.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, time management and organisational skills
  • Intermediate computer skills; ability to use a range of software and IT based reporting systems
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing demands in a structured thoughtful manner
  • Ability to transport children, conduct home visits and willingness to travel

Mandatory Education, Training and/or Competencies

  • Minimum Cert II in Community Services discipline or equivalent (or currently studying in the sector) would be desirable and/or must be willing to obtain further study in Diploma of Community Services
