About the role of Lighting Technician

We are seeking a skilled Lighting Technician to join our dynamic team. This role

involves operating and managing lighting equipment for various film, photo and video

productions. As a Lighting Technician, you will be responsible for positioning,

controlling, and maintaining lighting setups to achieve the desired visual effects and

ensure a smooth production process.

What you need

 Minimum Certificate III in including two years of on-the-job training, Certificate

IV in relevant field, or minimum 3 years relevant experience

 Proven experience as a Lighting Technician or similar role in film, television,

video productions, or theatre productions.

 Strong technical knowledge of lighting equipment and control systems.

 Ability to adapt lighting setups to various environments and creative

requirements.

 Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues

on the spot.

 Australian Criminal History Check

Key Responsibilities

 Operating microwave equipment to transmit video feeds to transmitter sites

and receiving video signals from remote locations.

 Performing maintenance and repairs on radio and television transmitters, as

well as related equipment.

 Selecting and attaching equipment to cameras, positioning the cameras, and

adjusting controls to follow the action during filming.

 Setting up and operating equipment such as spotlights, floodlights, and

cables, while managing lighting during filming, broadcasts, and live

performances.

 Applying and retouching makeup, including special effects makeup for scars

and wounds, during shooting and live performances.

 Designing and crafting musical instruments and components using techniques

similar to cabinetmaking, metalworking, silversmithing, and wood carving, as

well as tuning and repairing instruments.

 Setting up and adjusting audio equipment, such as microphones, and

operating sound mixing consoles to control volume and sound quality.

 Selecting, setting up, and adjusting television recording, editing, and mixing

equipment, ensuring proper operation and monitoring.
