ABOUT THE ROLE

Part-time (0.8 EFT hours per fortnight) temporary until
Based in Wangaratta with travel to Wodonga site on occasions.
The Orange Door works to keep perpetrators accountable by supporting them to take personal responsibility and to choose to end their violent behaviours and attitudes. It also has an important role in understanding and monitoring perpetrator risk to inform safety planning for victims and families. The Orange Door recognises that while not all perpetrators of family violence are men, the majority of family violence is gendered and perpetrated by men against women.

With the aim of ensuring the safety of victim survivors and accountability of perpetrators or men who use violence, a Men's Family Violence Practitioner is responsible for undertaking screening and triage, intake assessment, targeted interventions and service planning as part of The Orange Door team. The position requires collaborative work within a matrix framework to optimise clinical outcomes and service delivery to support integrated risk assessment and planning including participating in case conferences at the Orange Door and other partner agencies This is intended to ensure effective and meaningful development of a seamless service system that meets the needs of the families and individuals supported by the Orange Door in the Ovens Murray region. Whilst this position will be based at The Orange Door, it will remain connected and integrated with Gateway Health in general, and specifically the Domestic and Family Violence program.

You can bring in your expertise as a social or community services worker and transfer your skills and experience from other related fields, such as psychology, housing and homelessness, drug and alcohol, mental health, child and family services, disability services, criminal justice and so on.

You will learn and grow through the support of your colleagues, on-the-job training and best practice approaches.

ABOUT YOU

Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or other related disciplines or be willing to be working towards meeting recommendation 209 as per the mandatory minimum qualification requirements for specialist family violence practitioners.
Previous experience in domestic and violence service sector and or willingness to be trained in Men's Family Violence services.
A passion for integrated service delivery, service reform and improving outcomes for women, children and families.
Demonstrated experience in intake, assessment and case management with knowledge in early intervention and prevention program services.
The ability to work autonomously.
REMUNERATION

Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry (SCHADS) Award

Classification Level 4 or 5 dependent on experience
