What is the opportunity?

Thomas Borthwick & Sons is seeking a full-time Electrician capable of working rotating Monday – Friday shifts and dedicated to completing electrical repairs and maintenance to applicable standards.

What skills are we looking for?

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting on a wide range of electrical systems and plant equipment in compliance with AS/NZS 300 standards.
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to production breakdown to support daily operations with a view to minimizing downtime.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks and support planned work orders
  • Program and diagnose faults on PLC's and MCC control rooms
  • Assist with upgrades, installations and electrical project work
  • Analyse root causes of equipment failure and implement preventive solutions
  • Maintain tools and equipment, and workplace to high a safety and cleanliness standard.
  • Support and mentor apprentices and contractors, ensuring compliance with safety procedures

What experience are we looking for?

  • Current Queensland Electrical Fitter/Mechanic License
  • Strong experience in an industrial maintenance environment, ideally in a food or manufacturing environment( desirable /not essential)
  • Proficiency with PLCs, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative mindset
