Days/Timings: Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3 pm

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Remove parts and panels from the vehicle.
• Prepare panels for painting with hand and power sanders.
• Mask areas that are not to be painted with tape and paper.
• Select pre-mixed paint or mix paints with base and tint to match the paint.
• Colour matching and mixing paints to match paint shades, and selecting pre-mixed paint
• applying primer and finishing coats using spray guns, and sanding surfaces between coats
• touching up paintwork and applying polish to vehicles
• removing masking papers, waxing and polishing finished paintwork
• painting signs and artwork on vehicles
• treating vehicles with rust-proofing chemicals

In Australia:

A relevant trade qualification, including at least two years of on-the-job training or three years of relevant experience as a vehicle painter.

Registration or licensing may be required.
