Position Information

Concord High School is a large, dynamic, comprehensive setting with approximately 1300 students from a broad range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, with 70% of students from non-English speaking backgrounds (NESB). The 3 Deputy Principals and 100 teaching staff are experienced, high-performing and have high expectations of successful student outcomes. There are a wide range of wellbeing and extra-curricular programs in place designed to ensure that all students are engaged and well supported in their learning. The school is set in picturesque surroundings in the inner western suburbs of Sydney. Priorities in the School Plan focus on Academic Achievement, Student Engagement and Building Capacity of staff and students to achieve to their full potential.

Selection Criteria

Approval to teach Careers.

Proven communication skills with the capacity to support, inform and inspire students from diverse backgrounds to choose post-school pathway options aligned to their goals.

Highly developed knowledge and understanding of vocational education and training in schools, school-based apprenticeships and traineeships, and HSC pathways.

Capacity to lead, design and implement a year 10 career education program that aligns with school strategic priorities and Departmental policies.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
