About the Role

As a Sheet Metal Worker and leader, you will be responsible for the end-to-end process of fabricating high-quality components and products, ensuring precision and adherence to standards.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Fabrication: Mark out, cut, shape, and form sheet metal and other materials using hand and power tools, including guillotines, press brakes, and rollers.
  • Assembly: Fit and assemble components through welding, riveting, soldering, and other joining techniques. Finish and polish products to the required standards.
  • Technical Skills: Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements and select appropriate metal stock (e.g., mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium).
  • Leadership: Oversee daily workshop operations, supporting and mentoring junior tradespeople, and maintaining workflow efficiency.
  • Quality & Safety: Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, and production standards.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who takes pride in their craft and is ready to take on more responsibility. You must bring:

  • Trade qualification as a Sheet Metal Worker (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, and finishing of sheet metal components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
  • Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Unrestricted Australian work rights.

Highly Desirable:

  • Experience leading or mentoring a small team.
  • Familiarity with specialised sheet metal work in different materials (experience with stainless steel is great).
  • Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Sheetmetal Working).
