Job description:

We are currently seeking motivated and responsible individuals for Casual support worker positions.

Reporting to the Management (Operation Team), you will be required to appropriately support participants with their needs and to reach their goals.

Essential Criteria :

* Certificate 3 in Disability Support, Aged Care or Individual Support (or equivalent).

* Minimum of 2 years of experience in supporting clients with various disabilities or challenging behaviors.

* Punctuality and Commitment to supporting the needs of our participants.

* Have a valid :

  • Working with Children Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • (Australian) Driver Licence
  • First Aid Certificate & CPR
  • Visa/VEVO (the right to work in Australia)
  • National Police Check

Other Specific Criteria as requested by clients:

Communication Style:

Clear and direct communication is essential to ensure understanding and comfort.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Experience in Person-Centred Care: Must demonstrate a solid understanding of person-centred care principles, including how it is applied in everyday situations.

  • Conflict Management Skills: Ability to manage difficult situations calmly and effectively, ensuring the participant feels supported.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Demonstration of Person-Centred Care: Ability to illustrate how person-centred care can be tailored to meet the participant's needs, such as involving him in decision-making and respecting his preferences.

  • Identification and Reporting of Concerns: Must be proactive in identifying issues or changes in the participant's condition and reporting them appropriately.

  • Language Proficiency: A strong grasp of the English language for effective communication and understanding of the participant's needs and values.

Practical Skills:

  • Cooking Skills: Competence in preparing meals that cater to the participant's dietary requirements and preferences, ensuring nutritional needs are met.

  • Resource Management: Financially savvy with a focus on avoiding waste, particularly regarding food, cleaning products, and other resources.

Personal Attributes:

  • Supportive Communication: Ability to engage with the participant about his values and beliefs, providing support as needed while respecting his autonomy.

  • Driving Skills: Must be an experienced driver with a clean, well-maintained, and hygienic vehicle.

Pay: $36.00 – $38.00 per hour
