Are you someone who enjoys working outdoors and wants to build a hands-on, rewarding career in tree care and environmental sustainability? The Town of Walkerville is offering an exciting opportunity for a Junior Apprentice Arborist to join their dedicated Open Space & Horticulture team.

This is an ideal role for a school leaver or early career starter looking to gain real-world experience, while earning a nationally recognised Certificate III in Arboriculture – all while contributing to the care and preservation of our town's beautiful green spaces.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Assisting in the planting, maintenance, and care of trees across Walkerville
  • Learning how to safely operate pruning and climbing equipment
  • Supporting qualified arborists with inspections and tree work
  • Participating in regular training and TAFE study
  • Helping keep our streetscapes, parks, and reserves green, safe, and welcoming

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has a genuine interest in trees, nature, and the outdoors
  • Is enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to learn
  • Is physically fit and enjoys working as part of a team
  • Can follow safety procedures and instructions
  • Holds or is working towards a driver's licence (preferred but not essential)
