About Us
The Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay (Diocese) is home to more than 215,000 Catholics and exists to serve the People of God in Sydney's Northern Beaches, the North Shore and the Central Coast. Our communities are nourished and sustained by the sacramental life of the Church celebrated and available through its 27 parishes and ecclesial communities, 44 Catholic schools, diocesan agencies and ministries. The Diocese works alongside local people and organisations to provide a diverse range of spiritual, pastoral, educational, social and community support services for those who live and work in the Diocese.
About the Role
The Diocese is undertaking a historic and sacred endeavour: the construction and development of a new Cathedral that will serve as the spiritual heart of the community for generations to come. More than just a building, the Cathedral will be a visible sign of the Church's enduring presence and mission - a sacred place of worship, formation, service, and community encounter.
To bring this vision to life, we are seeking a Head of Fundraising and Strategic Initiatives to lead a major philanthropic campaign of transformative scope and purpose. This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic, mission-driven leader to inspire generosity, cultivate meaningful relationships, and secure the philanthropic investment required to make this dream a reality.
As Head of Fundraising and Strategic Initiatives you will design, launch, and manage a major capital campaign to fund the construction and long-term development of the Cathedral. You will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and mission-aligned partners capable of making transformational gifts.
You will lead with a deep understanding of and commitment to the Church's mission, ensuring that fundraising efforts reflect Gospel values, pastoral sensitivity, and a spirit of hospitality. You will oversee compelling campaign communications and donor events that reflect the beauty, vision, and legacy of the new Cathedral.
Key to this role will be your ability to inspire trust and generosity through authentic relationships and visionary leadership.
This position is a full-time role and based at Pennant Hills. The position is for an initial period of 5 years, with the possibility of renewal.
