HPC Operations Engineer – $400K+ | Global Trading Firm

We're looking for an experienced HPC Operations Engineer to maintain, optimise, and support our Linux-based high-performance computing (HPC) environments that power advanced quantitative research and low-latency trading systems.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and support large-scale HPC clusters, storage, and networking infrastructure.
  • Maintain and optimise Lustre/GPFS parallel filesystems, Slurm/Grid Engine schedulers, and RDMA fabrics.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex operational issues in mission-critical environments.
  • Automate processes with tools like Ansible, SaltStack, and scripting in Python, Go, or C.
  • Collaborate closely with research and trading teams to ensure maximum uptime and performance.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong Linux systems administration experience, preferably in HPC or similar environments.
  • Knowledge of HPC technologies (parallel filesystems, batch schedulers, high-performance networking).
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
