We are seeking a passionate Chef to join our team at Ravenshoe Hotel on a full-time basis.

Originally built in 1927, the Ravenshoe Hotel is an iconic establishment located in the small town of Ravenshoe in Far North Qld. Fun fact; Ravenshoe Hotel is actually the highest pub in Queensland, with an elevation of 916m above sea level Our facilitates include both a cafe / restaurant and bar servicing the local area, as well as accommodation services.

Day-to-day tasks and duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are upheld.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Deliver exceptional food quality consistently, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the creation of new menu items with creativity and flair.
  • Work independently and autonomously, while also being an effective team player.
  • Assist in stock control, ordering and inventory management.
  • Kitchen management, including providing leadership and guidance to junior kitchen staff when required.

The successful applicant will need to possess:

  • Relevant trade qualification for a Chef, such as a Certificate IV or higher qualification in Kitchen management or similar.
  • At least three years of experience as a Chef in a kitchen is essential for this position.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Very good communication skills.
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina.
  • Passion and flair for cooking.
  • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware.
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.).
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
