As a proactive and self-driven Platform Engineering Delivery Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery of integration platform capabilities, ensuring alignment with 12-month delivery plans and program increment (PI) objectives. Your role includes driving the success of agile, multi-disciplinary teams while enabling effective collaboration across stakeholders.

This role offers the opportunity to lead the delivery of critical integration capabilities, fostering innovation and driving value for the Department through platform excellence.

Key duties and responsibilities

Strategic Delivery Leadership

  • Develop and refine team strategies for effective planning, monitoring, reporting, and outcomes to deliver tangible business value.
  • Maintain alignment with agile methodologies (Kanban/Scrum) and divisional SDLC practices.
  • Platform Delivery and Team Management
  • Partner with Product Management, Product owners and Scrum Masters to define, manage, and coordinate team objectives for each program increment.
  • Create and publish delivery plans (POAPs) to ensure visibility and transparency.
  • Anticipate and resolve impediments, manage dependencies, identify patterns, and proactively solve problems to maintain delivery momentum.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executive-level staff.
  • Actively consult and share information with other delivery leads to align and optimize team strengths for shared outcomes.
  • Provide regular, accurate updates on delivery progress to product management and senior executives.

Quality and Process Governance

  • Apply knowledge of quality assurance, information management systems, and change control processes to coordinate quality reviews of documentation and processes.
  • Maintain essential project artifacts such as reports, delivery roadmaps, resource plans, and status updates to ensure effective management of deliverables

Essential criteria

  1. Proven Delivery Expertise
    • Extensive experience driving the delivery of technical projects and platform capabilities in agile environments as a Delivery Manager.
    • Ability to define, document, and maintain delivery roadmaps and plans while managing priorities against team capacity.
    • Experience delivering technical projects in a Government environment

  2. Leadership & Communication
    • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, particularly at the executive level.
    • Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative, innovative, and efficient team culture.
    • Lead and coach team members to enhance their delivery and professional expertise while fostering a culture of continuous improvement to promote a high-performing team culture.
    • Establish/maintain scrum team make-up and function in collaboration with Section leadership
    • Represent and drive integration teams during large-scale Agile events such as PI planning, showcases, ART syncs, inspect and adapt sessions, and branch-wide synchronization efforts.

  3. Platform Engineering & Integration - Proven experience in delivering digital integration platforms (as opposed to standalone applications). - Solid understanding of platform engineering principles and practices over a traditional Project Management approach.

Desirable Criteria

  1. • SAFe certifications and/or experience working in a SAFe or similar scaled agile environment.
    • Scrum Master certification.
    • Experience delivering integration platforms using SaaS products, particularly MuleSoft or API management platforms.
    • Strong technical understanding of the MuleSoft platform.
    • Proficiency in using tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps, Microsoft TFS, or Miro for managing delivery.
