Wentworth, Australia Duxton Vineyards Full time $60,000 - $90,000 per year

About Us

Duxton Vineyards (DV) is one of Australia's largest and most progressive wine businesses, located in the Sunraysia region. We manage over 1,400 hectares of vineyards and operate a state-of-the-art winery, producing around 20% of the region's annual grape production and 4% of Australia's total annual crush.

We're proud to lead the industry in sustainability, technology, and large-scale viticultural innovation — producing award-winning wines for both domestic and international markets.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Production Horticulturist to join our vineyard operations team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role plays a key part in supporting the effective planning and implementation of vineyard activities — from land preparation and vine care to crop treatment and irrigation.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on role, enjoys working outdoors, and is passionate about vineyard management and sustainable agriculture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Operations Manager in planning and delivering vineyard maintenance and land preparation programs.
  • Coordinate and record crop treatments, including fertiliser and chemical applications, in line with procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Identify and report vine stress, pests, or diseases promptly.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to manage water requirements and assist with irrigation maintenance.
  • Safely operate and maintain tractors, sprayers, and vineyard implements.
  • Conduct and document daily equipment pre-start checks.
  • Assist in training and mentoring machinery operators.
  • Ensure vineyard inputs and materials are available for planned operations.

About You

  • AQF Certificate III or IV in Horticulture, Viticulture, or a related field or 5+ years of relevant practical experience.
  • Chemical User Permit (or willingness to obtain).
  • Proven experience operating vineyard or farm machinery.
  • Strong attention to safety and quality standards.
  • Good communication, organisation, and time management skills.
  • A team player who can also work independently, with a flexible and reliable attitude.
