At Energy Power Systems Australia (EPSA), we're not just about providing world-class power solutions — we're about building real, long-lasting relationships with our customers.
Commissioning Generator Electrician
If you're a qualified A‑Grade electrician with hands‑on generator and mechanical experience, this is your chance to commission data centres, hospitals, mining & resources, utilities, and industrial facilities. Generator experience is mandatory.
What you'll be doing:
- Impactful projects: Commission diesel and gas generator systems for large‑scale data centres and industrial sites as well as healthcare facilities, remote & regional operations, and major infrastructure.
- Variety & travel: Work from our Mulgrave workshop, across local metro VIC sites, and interstate for short and multi‑day trips.
Hands‑on tech: Load bank testing, alternator and mechanical checks, controls verification, protection checks, and end‑to‑end power system sign‑off.
Commission, test, and sign off generator systems to spec and standards (electrical & mechanical).
- Execute functional testing (including load bank), alarms, controls, protection, and performance verification.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical/mechanical issues during commissioning.
- Produce clear commissioning documentation: test sheets, punch lists, redlines, and handover packs.
- Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and clients to deliver on time, first‑time‑right outcomes.
- Always lead with a safety‑first mindset on every site.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A‑Grade Electrical Licence, with hands on generator and mechanical experience
- Proven generator experience (service/commissioning on diesel or gas gensets).
- Able to travel locally and interstate and mobilise from the workshop as required.
- Current driver's licence and full working rights in Australia.
Nice to have:
- Experience with power system controls/AVR/governor, PLC/SCADA interfaces, and LV/MV switchgear.
- Ability to read single‑line diagrams, schematics, wiring schedules, and OEM manuals.
